Hills Shire Council - Focus Magazine
The challenge
With a population of 166,412 people, Hills Shire Council faces a massive obstacle when communicating local news and events with all of their residents. Hills Shire Council approached Leonards in 2016 to project manage the print and distribution of the seasonal magazine, Focus. Focus is a free informative magazine that covers important local issues, events and activities happening in The Hills Shire area.
The solution
Given our experienced team of project managers and strong background in design and print management, we knew we could deliver on the high quality the council was seeking. There are over 61,000 copies printed for each edition and Leonards has streamlined the process which includes delivery timeline, print booking, client liaison, quality checks at each point of the process and flight checks. Once the publication is printed it is then delivered to our distributors in metro and rural. Our metro distributors provide GPS tracking and reporting throughout the delivery period and our rural supplier is a small team who hand deliver the magazine from a motorbike. If any issue arises during this process Leonards is the first point of contact and endeavours to resolve the issue before Council is involved. Council at all times is kept abreast to any of the issues which helps when they receive any direct feedback from constituents.
The results
Over 61,000 copies of Focus magazine are printed and delivered on schedule to the families and members of the community within the Council each quarter.
