COME VISIT! Activating your local community to grow your visitor economy

Challenge

Over recent years, DMS has been developing a new way to engage communities to encourage them to invite their friends and relatives to visit their region.

During 2022, ComeVisit ran a successful Barrington Coast (Mid-Coast Council) ‘pilot study’. In 2023 ComeVisit will be ‘rolled out’ across several destinations in NSW and Victoria.

A hyper-local activation campaign has been created with Leonards to support the launch and grow awareness of the ComeVisit platform within the community. The essence of the campaign focuses on a playful and personalised way for locals to invite their friends and family from out of town to come visit! A series of ‘excuse’ headlines prompt the audience to send a ComeVisit! invitation to someone they’re missing via an integrated media mix of on and offline media along with cost-effective radio activations targeting locals to jump online and send invitations.

Results

In its first six months, ComeVisit! has conservatively delivered Mid-Coast Council a ROI of over 350%.
