Challenge

Waverley Council required a tourism site to act as a virtual tourism information centre. The site would be the default landing page after connecting to the free WiFiwhich is currently being rolled out across Bondi Beach, Bondi Junction and surrounding suburbs, and would need to accommodate up to ½ million hits per day in peak season.

Solution

Leonards recommended the site be built using WordPress, due to its ease of use for Council when updating, and for its large plugin collection. The site features integrations into a number of services useful to tourists in the area and accommodates a comfortable viewing experience on any device due to the mobile-first approach adopted.

Results

Over a million users have accessed and used hellobondi.com and is anticipated to peak during the summer season. Stage 2 of the website is about to commence to create a more interactive experience for the users.
